Crakajak is having a big 1999, starting the year
with the Victorian Country Duo/Group of the Year Award at the Kyneton
Country Music Festival and ending it with the completion of their
third album. The new century starts in January with eleven gigs
at the Tamworth Festival at some of the festival's most prominent
venues such as the Tamworth RSL, the City Tavern, Brumbys and The
Pub. This will be the third time Crakajak have packed the trailer
and made the trek north to Tamworth, the first year with only a
couple of gigs, some busking and meeting and greeting, resulting
in more gigs the second time round. The hard yards seem to be paying
off. They've been known as the Kings of the B & S circuit and
have used that exposure across Victoria and New South Wales as a
base to launch their attack on Australia's ever growing country
music market. Described in Capitol News as "highly energetic
and dance friendly" and in Total Country as "fresh' innovative
and crowd pleasing" Crakajak aims to vindicate these praises
with a successful assault on Tamworth in 2000.
